For Someone Special, You know who you Are!

This for you my Someone Special

FOR GOOD
I'm limited
Just look at me – I'm limited
And just look at you - You can do all I couldn't do, Glinda
So now it's up to you
 For both of us
Now it's up to you: I've heard it said That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led To those who help us most to grow If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today Because I knew you:
Like a comet pulled from orbit As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you I have been changed for good
It well may be That we will never meet again In this lifetime
So let me say before we part So much of me Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end I know you have re-written mine By being my friend:
Like a ship blown from its mooring By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a skybird In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better? But because I knew you:
Because I knew you: I have been changed for good
And just to clear the air I ask forgiveness For the things I've done you blame me for
But then, I guess we know There's blame to share And none of it seems to matter anymore
Like a comet pulled from orbit as it passes the sun.
Like a stream the meets a boulder halfway through the wood.
Like a ship blown from its mooring by a wind off the sea.
Like a seed dropped by a bird in the wood.
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
I do believe I have been changed for the better?
And because I knew you: Because I knew you:
Because I knew you: I have been changed for good.

Tips on Practicing and Vocalization during choir practice.

If you are in a choral group, either an amateur one or professionally, I believe the ONE important
tool as you may know is Vocalization Practice.  Here are some habits I feel a Great group or an individual
singer must develop to achieve maximum perfection in the performance of a choral piece or a song.

1. Voice production is initially created by the speech organ, which involves the throat, the voice box,
the teeth, the tongue, the air passageways, the nose, the larynx, the lungs and the diaphragm. The
proper care of these is important.  It must be properly lubricated (meaning, the mouth, tongue,
inner throat area and air passageways must have enough wetness).  A person is therefore required
to bring his/her own water. Which must be ingested before, during and after practice.

2.  The whole body emotionally, mentally and physically is involved in singing.  Therefore it must be
relaxed, alert and comfortable.  A choral member therefore must have good sleeping habits and
stretching exercises.  A tired mind and body will NOT produce the Best Sound. Proper posture
is also a result of good exercise habits.  The vocal chords will be stretched during vocalization also
the diaphragm.  Exercise promotes good strong breathing.  Remember, "the Spirit is Willing but the
Flesh is Weak."  Jogging in place and Stretching is important before choral practice.  Breathing
exercises is also foundational.  If we do not have a strong grasp and control of our breathing muscles
we cannot produce an good, strong, natural sound.

3. Emotional preparation is also important, personal problems must be set aside during choral practice.
Complete Focus is required.  Our mind must be fully focused on the task at hand. Our Spirit must be
Strong in the Lord.  The Habit of Prayer and Meditation before choral practice is a Must. Mentally,
I would suggest also each must be fully prepared and familiar with the song line-up, it's meaning and
relation to the  mass and to your life. An understanding of the meaning of the song from the composer's
perspective, the musician's perspective and the singer's perspective is a great help in your getting the
    message across for the listener.

4. Physically, one must be comfortable.  Proper, cool, loose clothing is a must.  Too tight clothes,
specially in the diaphragm area is a NO.  The air you will need for singing will be delayed, blocked
or prevented from supporting your sound.  Breath support is important to achieve the full, clear
tone and sound of each note and word that you sing.

Well, I hope this helps you in achieving your goal as a choral group or as a singer.  Practice makes Perfect.

God Bless YOU.

Why not make a singing journal?

I 'm addicted to journalling.. I have Eat, Pray, Love Journals,  I have my Poem Journals,  I love my Blog.. but nothing beats the feeling of writing on paper and putting down your thoughts.  So, I'm thinking of suggesting to you a singing journal.  You could put pictures of your choir, the places where you served.  Make comments on how you felt about a song.  How your throat feels for the day.  You could also put your thoughts on the current Mass songs that you have selected or your feelings about the current homily and what song applies...

You could even paste your musical sheets in your journal.  Example, a fave song.

So, whadda you think?

It seems I'm on the right track.

Hello there! God seems to want me to continue this since he allowed me to find my old reference materials.  My friend Fred was looking for a musical piece "Simeon's Canticle" which I happened to have stored in one of the old music books me and my sister bought before.  Lo and behold! Wrapped in blue plastic were my old reading material on music ministry. It's called "Using your Gift" by Beverly Anne Sumrall.  Incredible! Just when I was thinking of reopening this blog. ;)  God works with humor. He's really fun when you get to know him.

So, now I am currently pouring over the material and learning again!  You'll find out about my readings later on in this blog.  Stay tuned.

Resuming Blog

Hello Everyone, I am now on my first blog for the year 2011. It has been a long time.
I haven't been in Ministry for quite a while... So, I figured, why stop? When I can continue serving through this Blog?

So, first things first. "GOD IS GREAT! TO HIM ALL BE THE GLORY!"

This is "THE SONG"

If I'm to be married in the future, this is the song I want playing.

Happy Valentine!

Barry Louis Polisar--All I Want Is You -

If I was a flower growing wild and free
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee.
And if I was a tree growing tall and greeen
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves

If I was a flower growing wild and free
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee.
And if I was a tree growing tall and greeen
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.

If you were a river in the mountains tall,
The rumble of your water would be my call.
If you were the winter, I know I'd be the snow
Just as long as you were with me, let the cold winds blow

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.

If you were a wink, I'd be a nod
If you were a seed, well I'd be a pod.
If you were the floor, I'd wanna be the rug
And if you were a kiss, I know I'd be a hug

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.

If you were the wood, I'd be the fire.
If you were the love, I'd be the desire.
If you were a castle, I'd be your moat,
And if you were an ocean, I'd learn to float.

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea

A Little Romance for Me!

The following paragraph is one of my favorite lines in a film, it was uttered by the greatest actor Sir Laurence Olivier in a little known movie "A Little Romance"  I have it on CD, and plan to watch it again this Valentines.

"You could make it true. What are legends anyway but stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things? Of course, it takes courage and imagination... not everybody has that. I may be an old fraud Daniel, but I do know this: something that two people who are in love create together against impossible odds, can hold them together... forever. "

Here's another one.

Daniel Michon: Call me Bogie.
Lauren King: Why?
Daniel Michon: Because they belong together.

Happy Valentines! Je'taime!

Was Surfing for my friends on Multiply when....

Being an Eheads fan it was nice seeing this re-worked version of "With a Smile" which I consider "theme song of me & my Ex on previous happy times" Nywayz, I like this new version.

Lift your hand, oh, don't be scared
Of the things that could go wrong along the way
You'll get by with a smile
You can't win at everything but you can try.

Baby, you don't have to worry
'Coz there ain't no need to hurry
No one ever said that there's an easy way
When they're closing all their doors
And they don't want you anymore
This sounds funny but I'll say it anyway.

and I'll stay through the bad times
Even if it sounds so churchy anyway
I'll get by if you smile
You can never be too happy in this life.

In a world where everybody
Hates a happy ending story
It's a wonder love can make the world go round
And don't let it bring you down
And turn your face into a frown
You'll get along with a little prayer and a song.

(Too doo doo...)
Let me hear you sing it
(Too doo doo...)

In a world where everybody
Hates a happy ending story
It's a wonder love can make the world go round
But don't let it bring you down
And turn your face into a frown
You'll get along with a little prayer and a song.

Lift your head..., don't be scared
Of the things that could go wrong along the way
You'll get by with a smile
Now it's time to kiss away those tears goodbye

(Too doo doo...)
Let me hear you sing it
(Too doo doo

LOVE IS A VERB!

Tear Drop - Massive Attack
Love, love is a verb
Love is a doing word
Fearless on my breath
Gentle impulsion
Shakes me makes me lighter
Fearless on my breath

Teardrop on the fire
Fearless on my breath

Nine night of matter
Black flowers blossom
Fearless on my breath
Black flowers blossom
Fearless on my breath

Teardrop on the fire
Fearless on my breath

Water is my eye
Most faithful mirror
Fearless on my breath
Teardrop on the fire of a confession
Fearless on my breath
Most faithful mirror
Fearless on my breath

Teardrop on the fire
Fearless on my breath

Stumbling a little
Stumbling a little

Tear Drop - Massive Attack

NATALIE WALKER - QUICKSAND

I must have been so stupid
I must have been so out of touch
He must have been so clever
Convincing me that this was really love

Desperate for words
Lost in a maze
It fell apart
I lost my place
It hurt so bad
I cried for days
Time healed all pain
Now I’m okay

How many times can my heart break
Disillusioned by the thought of flawless love
Will I ever get there
Or am I drowning in quicksand
With no relief to come

I’ll rise from all my sorrow
Let the sun shine on my face
All alone in comfort
Its my solitude I will embrace

I will rise from my sorrow…
Quicksand (Original Version) - Natalie Walker

Look at What this Dear Girl is Listening to!

Ain't Love Grand!  Currently Listening to Heavenly Music!

Classical Piano Themes

LIFE, DEATH AND ALL THE ANGST IN BETWEEN

Reverie - Adriano Jordao

A friend's father died recently and I got to thinking of how life goes by

like a flash in the eye.  How one should say what one really wants so that

everything is crystal clear to the other. How a moment could be so fleeting

that one has to make the most of it or it's gone forever.

Or one can never get it back the same way.  It's so easy to get lost in life's

noisiness.

Life gets in the way sometimes... You forget to take in the details.

Details like when a person smiles - and what it meant to them.

Why someone does  something a certain way.

Time Travels.  Snap! Then that person whose been the whole

world for you suddenly ups and leaves.

Not saying anything even to help you achieve some form of closure.

Got me thinking into savoring each moment as it comes.

Enjoying that pint of  Ice cream or just taking it all in.

The climax in a movie. How peaceful the air smells after rain.

Or to really listen to a beautiful piece of music and appreciate it.

That moment when laughter becomes a cackle.

"Laughter that comes from belly up", as I recall a friend once described it.

Bella's Lullaby by Edward Cullen

Bellas Lullaby - Edward Cullen

Decode from Paramore (Acoustic Version) "Twilight Soundtrack"

Decode (Acoustic Version) - Paramore

How can I decide what’s right

When you’re clouding up my mind?

I can’t win you’re losing fight

All the time How could I ever own what’s mine

When you’re always taking sides

But you won’t take away my pride

No, not this time

Not this time

How did we get here?

When I used to know you so well

How did we get here?

Well, I think I know how

The truth is hiding in your eyes

And it’s hanging on your tongue

Just boiling in my blood

But you think that I can’t see

What kind of man that you are

If you’re a man at all

Well, I will figure this one out

On my own (I’m screaming, “I love you so”)

On my own (My thoughts you can’t decode)

How did we get here?

When I used to know you so well, yeah How did we get here?

Well, I think I know how Do you see what we’ve done?

We’ve gone and made such fools Of ourselves

Do you see what we’ve done?

We’ve gone and made such fools Of ourselves

How did we get here?

When I used to know you so well, yeah, yeah

Well, How did we get here?

Well, I used to know you so well I think I know I think I know

There is something I see in you It might kill me I want it to be true

This is how it feels for "Twilight"

This feels like Edward Cullen's Thoughts. Exactly what he'd be saying to Bella.

Lightness by Death Cab for Cutie
Lightness - Death Cab For Cutie

There's a tear in the fabric of your favorite dress
And i'm sneaking glances.
Looking for the patterns in static
They start to make sense the longer i'm at it.

Ivory lines lead
Oo wha-ho, oo wha-ho

Your heart is a river that flows from your chest
Through every organ
Your brain is the dam
And i am the fish who can't reach the cord.

Ivory lines lead
Oo wha-ho, oo wha-ho

Oh, instincts are misleading
You shouldn't think what you're feeling
They don't tell you what you know you should want.

Ivory lines lead
Oo wha-ho, oo wha-ho
[x2]

Oh, instincts are misleading
You shouldn't think what you're feeling
They don't tell you want you know you should want.

Ivory lines lead
Oo wha-ho

This song Rocks!!!

I loved this song on "The Invisible" it was playing during one of my favorite scenes.

Love of mine some day you will die

But I'll be close behind

I'll follow you into the dark

No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white

Just our hands clasped so tight

Waiting for the hint of a spark

If Heaven and Hell decide

That they both are satisfied Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks

Then I'll follow you into the dark

In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule

I got my knuckles bruised by a lady in black

And I held my tongue as she told me "Son fear is the heart of love"

So I never went back

If Heaven and Hell decide That they both are satisfied

Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks

Then I'll follow you into the dark

You and me have seen everything to see

From Bangkok to Calgary And the soles of your shoes are all worn down

The time for sleep is now It's nothing to cry about

Cause we'll hold each other soon The blackest of rooms

If Heaven and Hell decide That they both are satisfied

Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks

Then I'll follow you into the dark

Then I'll follow you into the dark
